Exams conducted by SSC CPO

Staff Selection Commission Central Police Organisation (Sub-Inspectors) Exam acronym as SSC CPO (S.I) is conducted by SSC on National level to fill required number of candidates to the post of Sub Inspectors in various Central Government Police Organisations like CRPF, ITBP, CBI, SSB, CISF, BSF and SI in Delhi Police etc. Due to its National level approach this test is taken by a large number of aspirants who wants to join these organisations on the priority basis.

SSC CPO EXAM PATTERN

SSC CPO exam has three different phases that candidates need to clear in order to get selected for various posts in Delhi Police, CAPFs, CISFs etc.. SSC CPO Paper 1 is Objective Multiple Choice Question paper. Paper II exam is English Comprehension Test, while PET/PST Test is conducted to check the endurance (medical and physical strength) of candidate.

SSC CPO PET Test

Male Candidates

  • 100 metre race in 16 seconds
  • 1.6 Km Race in 6.5 minutes
  • Long Jump: 3.65 metres in 5 chances
  • High Jump: 1.2 metres in 3 chances
  • Short put 16 LBS: 4.5 metres in 3 chances

Female Candidates

  • 100 metre race in 18 second
  • 800 metre race in 4 minutes
  • Long Jump: 2.7 metres or 9 feet in 3 chances
  • High Jump: 0.9 metres or 3 feet in 3 chances

SSC CPO Medical Test

Criteria for the Medical Test is given below:

  • Minimum Near Vision : N6 (better eye) and N9 (worse eye)
  • Minimum Distant Vision: 6/6 (better eye) and 6/9 (worse eye)
  • Must not have knock knee, flat foot, varicose vein or squint in eyes
  • Eye standards should be without visual correction of any kind even by glasses.

SSC Stenographer

SSC CPO Paper - 2 Exam Pattern

SSC CPO Paper-2 will be conducted after PET/PST Test for SSC CPO 2018 is conducted

  • The total time duration of the exam is of 120 minutes i.e. 2 hours.
  • The total number of questions asked will be around 200 and the maximum marks for Paper-2 will be 200
  • Must not have knock knee, flat foot, varicose vein or squint in eyes
  • The test will be of English Language and Comprehension conducted online.

SSC Stenographer Exam Pattern

The SSC Stenographer 2018 examination will be conducted in 2 different levels. The first level is Grade C and D exam that comprises of MCQs and is conducted online. After this exam has been conducted, an exam to test your skill sets in various domains is conducted by SSC.

a) The details of Computer Based Examination for SSC Stenographer 2018 Grade C and D are mentioned below:

b) Skill Test in Stenography:
  • Candidates who obtain the qualifying marks in the Examination as may be prescribed by the Commission will be called for the Skill Test. Commission may also prescribe qualifying marks in each part of the Examination. The Skill Test will be of qualifying nature and the Commission will fix the qualifying standards in the Skill Test for different categories of candidates.
  • The candidates will have to appear for the Skill Test in Stenography. The candidates will be given one dictation for 10 minutes in English/ Hindi at the speed of 100 word per minute (w.p.m) for the post of Stenographer Grade ‘C’ and 80 w.p.m. for the post of Stenographer Grade ‘D’. The matter will have to be transcribed on computer. The transcription time is as follows:

  • Candidates who opt to take the Stenography Test in Hindi will be required to learn English Stenography and vice versa after their appointment, failing which their probation may not be cleared by appointing departments. Candidates have to work as English/ Hindi stenographers as per the functional requirement of the User Office irrespective of the medium of Skill Test of candidate during the examination.
  • The skill test will be held at the Commission’s Regional/ Sub Regional Offices or at other Centre(s) as may be decided by the Commission.
  • Detailed instructions regarding Skill Test will be sent by the concerned Regional/ Sub Regional Offices of the Commission to the candidates called for the Skill Test.
